Водитель автомобиля Kia Sportage пытался оторваться от погони сотрудников ГИБДД и на огромной скорости вылетел на перекресток, где снес Renault Logan. Протащил ее по дороге, вынес на тротуар и вместе с ней протаранил стену дома. Водитель автомобиля «Renault» погиб на месте, гонщику же госпитализация не потребовалась.
За рулем КИА, устроившей смертельное ДТП в центре Петрозаводска, был 24-летний житель Мурманска. У молодого человека нет прав. Кроме того автомобиль, на котором он ехал, числится в угоне.
