В 1997–1998 годах у газеты был спонсор – компания «Сахалин Энерджи Инвестмент», поэтому несколько номеров вышли в цвете. Тогда издателем было Сахалинское областное книжное издательство. А позже газету стали издавать в Сахалинской областной типографии. С мая 2020 года газета «Нивх диф» стала восьмиполосной, является приложением к областной газете «Губернские ведомости».
