Ранее в результате атаки БПЛА на военный аэродром в Новгородской области был, предположительно, уничтожен бомбардировщик Ту-22М3. Власти подтвердили факт налёта, но информацию о подрыве самолёта не комментировали.
На «Шайковке», как и на атакованном аэродроме в Новгородской области, базируются Ту-22.
