Уголовное дело возбуждено по статье 163 УК «Вымогательство», обвиняемым по нему стал владелец ООО «Ведущая утилизирующая компания» (эта компания фигурировала в конце 2023 года в новостях о размещении производства по переработке отходов на Широкой речке) Юрий Аксёнов. Богдан Новорок признан по делу потерпевшим.
Сейчас Аксёнову будут избирать меру пресечения в Ленинском суде Екатеринбурга. Дело рассматривает судья Александр Суслов. Следствие требует заключить Аксёнова под стражу.
