В зависимости от версии, в седан BAIC U5 Plus CNG установлены один 80-литровый или два 39,1-литровых баллона с метаном, сжатым до 200 атмосфер. В обоих случаях баллоны размещены в багажном отделении. Такая компоновка обеспечивает максимально низкий центр тяжести автомобиля, повышая его устойчивость.
