А ще цього дня - рівно 110 років тому - в селі Пилипче Чортківського району (насправді ближче до Хотина, ніж до Чорткова) народився Яків Гніздовський - один із моїх улюблених українських мистців ХХ століття. Емігрант, що лиш по смерті "повернувся" до України (прах у 2005 році перепоховано на Личаківському цвинтарі), чоловік із фантастичним талантом і насиченою біографією; певною мірою - втілення українсько-американської мрії про успіх.

Особливий аспект його творчості - книжковий дизайн. Це абсолютно впізнаваний стиль: еталон естетики мінімалізму та неймовірні шрифти.
І топовий список авторів.

А чи не наймиліша моєму серцю робота Гніздовського - Дерева - зберігається в Луцьку в МСУМК. Я навіть маю килимок для миші з її принтом.
Також оригінали робіт Гніздовського є у краєзнавчому музеї Борщева, куди я ніяк не можу втрапити, як і в його рідне село, де також є музей мистця. Попри те, що ті краї мені вже стали як рідні, ноги до музеїв борщівщини мене не заносили. Але це вже зовсім інша історія.
