«Жидкий фасад» с маятником
Когда французский архитектор Dominique Perrault проектировал первый венский небоскреб DC Tower, то представил фасад в виде странных вертикальных неровностей. Оказалось, «жидкий фасад» изображает дунайские волны. Если бы билдинг строили лет сто назад, фасад был бы голубым (в память о «голубом Дунае»). Но Дунай давно перестал быть чистым и голубым. Поэтому цвет здания точно отражает экологические изменения последних лет.

Чтобы начать возведение небоскреба на берегу реки, в 2010 г. строители пробурили 535 шахт диаметром 1 м на глубину 35 м, залив все бетоном. Для 220-метровой высотки (+ антенна 30 м) потребовалось еще 110 тыс. м3 бетона и 20 тыс. т стали.

Мало, кто знает, что между 56 и 60 этажами билдинга установлен 300-тонный маятник. Он гасит боковые колебания здания из-за порывов ветра. Спешу успокоить всех, кто поднимался в ресторан и смотровую площадку верхнего этажа: здание соответствует всем нормам устойчивости ЕС.

Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform.
