Ранее стало известно о возбуждении на него и его жены Екатерины Портнягиной уголовного дела по статьям о в уклонении от уплаты налогов в особо крупном размере и легализации денежных средств, полученных преступным путем.
Как сообщил сам Дмитрий, дело возбудили из-за неуплаты пени и штрафов в размере 62 млн рублей, которые он оспаривал в суде. Сам он в этот момент находился с гуманитарной миссией в зону СВО.
После возбуждения дела СК отчитался, что следствию «оперативно удалось добиться полного возмещения ущерба».
