На днях в Одессе суд решил продлить арест оппозиционного журналиста Юрия Ткачева до 5 мая. Ткачев был задержан Службой безопасности Украины в Одессе 19 марта и обвинен в нарушении статьи 263 Уголовного кодекса Украины - "незаконное обращение с оружием и взрывчатыми веществами".
Само оружие ему подбросили представители СБУ во время обыска. В ходе последнего заседания стало известно, что СБУ проводит лингвистическую экспертизу материалов телеграмм-канала Ткачева. Это может значить, что СБУ, понимая бездоказательность обвинений журналиста в "хранении оружия", хочет обвинить его в других "преступлениях". А именно - в "посягательстве на территориальную целостность" (статья 110 Уголовного кодекса) или в "государственной измене" (статья 111). You may recall that, back when Facebook started changing WhatsApp’s terms of service, a number of news outlets reported on, and even recommended, switching to Telegram. Pavel Durov even said that users should delete WhatsApp “unless you are cool with all of your photos and messages becoming public one day.” But Telegram can’t be described as a more-secure version of WhatsApp. Telegram was founded in 2013 by two Russian brothers, Nikolai and Pavel Durov. Additionally, investors are often instructed to deposit monies into personal bank accounts of individuals who claim to represent a legitimate entity, and/or into an unrelated corporate account. To lend credence and to lure unsuspecting victims, perpetrators usually claim that their entity and/or the investment schemes are approved by financial authorities. Messages are not fully encrypted by default. That means the company could, in theory, access the content of the messages, or be forced to hand over the data at the request of a government. But Telegram says people want to keep their chat history when they get a new phone, and they like having a data backup that will sync their chats across multiple devices. And that is why they let people choose whether they want their messages to be encrypted or not. When not turned on, though, chats are stored on Telegram's services, which are scattered throughout the world. But it has "disclosed 0 bytes of user data to third parties, including governments," Telegram states on its website.
