Pre-war satellite images of the Russian ammunition depot in Toropets show that massive amount of ammunition was stored in the open air all over the territory of depot.
Nowadays, Russians store ammunition in a similar manner on other locations much closer to the front, such as in the Voronezh region, so it would not be surprising if Russians continued to store ammunition in the open air in depots about 500 km from the front.
Perhaps such careless handling of ammunition was the reason for such severe detonation as a result of the strikes. https://twitter.com/bayraktar_1love/status/1836288253495812149#m
