With broken heart, I want to express my feelings due to great tragedy that happened yesterday. Plain crush, that took lives of many. Among them members of United States Figure Skating family. And yes, they were friends with whom I competed together .participate in the shows worldwide Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov . Wonderful people, world champions. Our friend Sasha Kirsanov was also on this plane.…. My heart goes to all families and loved ones who suffer this terrible tragedy 💔

Two days after Russia invaded Ukraine, an account on the Telegram messaging platform posing as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged his armed forces to surrender. In 2018, Russia banned Telegram although it reversed the prohibition two years later. On December 23rd, 2020, Pavel Durov posted to his channel that the company would need to start generating revenue. In early 2021, he added that any advertising on the platform would not use user data for targeting, and that it would be focused on “large one-to-many channels.” He pledged that ads would be “non-intrusive” and that most users would simply not notice any change. False news often spreads via public groups, or chats, with potentially fatal effects. One thing that Telegram now offers to all users is the ability to “disappear” messages or set remote deletion deadlines. That enables users to have much more control over how long people can access what you’re sending them. Given that Russian law enforcement officials are reportedly (via Insider) stopping people in the street and demanding to read their text messages, this could be vital to protect individuals from reprisals.
