قال العيني (١٥/ ٢٦٣): ذكر هذا التعليق عن عبد الله بن مسعود إشارة إلى أن الانبساط مع الناس والمخالطة بهم مشروع، لكن بشرط أن لا يحصل في دينه خلل ويبقى صحيحًا
