Отвечаем на вопросы — где в России можно прочитать имена 29 октября?

В преддверии Дня памяти жертв политических репрессий мы делимся локацией и краткой историей некоторых мемориалов, посвященных жертвам советского террора. Каждый год 29–30 октября люди в разных регионах страны приносят цветы к местному памятнику. Наши подписчики задали нам вопросы про некоторые отдельные города и регионы — Белгород, Волгоград, Воронеж, Иркутскую область, Карелию, Кемеровскую область, Новосибирск и Петербург. В ответ мы подготовили карточки, в которых немного рассказали о местных мемориалах жертвам государственного террора.

Но это, конечно, лишь малая часть всех мест памяти, связанных с историей политических репрессий. Список всех мемориалов вы можете посмотреть, например, на сайте Сахаровского центра — но стоит сказать, что в последние годы некоторые из них, к сожалению, были уничтожены.

That hurt tech stocks. For the past few weeks, the 10-year yield has traded between 1.72% and 2%, as traders moved into the bond for safety when Russia headlines were ugly—and out of it when headlines improved. Now, the yield is touching its pandemic-era high. If the yield breaks above that level, that could signal that it’s on a sustainable path higher. Higher long-dated bond yields make future profits less valuable—and many tech companies are valued on the basis of profits forecast for many years in the future. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. Pavel Durov, a billionaire who embraces an all-black wardrobe and is often compared to the character Neo from "the Matrix," funds Telegram through his personal wealth and debt financing. And despite being one of the world's most popular tech companies, Telegram reportedly has only about 30 employees who defer to Durov for most major decisions about the platform. "There are a lot of things that Telegram could have been doing this whole time. And they know exactly what they are and they've chosen not to do them. That's why I don't trust them," she said. On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations.
