Усложняет ситуацию то, что Миронов не подготовил себе преемника и очень негативно относится к разговорам о возможных кандидатурах. При этом, лица, которые могли бы потянуть «Справедливую Россию» дальше, фактически отодвинуты от партийных дел.

Сами эсеры опасаются что партия может столкнуться с кризисом, который случился в ЛДПР после смерти Жириновского, на этом фоне ряд региональных лидеров эсеров начали переговоры о своем политическом будущем с «Новыми людьми», ЛДПР и даже с не парламентскими партиями.
