Среди 120 авторов проекта — единоросс и вице-спикер Госдумы Петр Толстой, приложивший руку также к закону о запрете усыновления российских детей в страны, где разрешен трансгендерный переход, и предлагавший премировать врачей, которые отговорят женщину от аборта.
Единороссы утверждают, что инициатива якобы не связана с правом на прерывание беременности.
