We have repeatedly said that the participants of the Solidarity Zone do not receive payment for their work — we all participate in the project on a volunteer basis. However, more and more work is being done. Most of the participants do not find time for paid work, plunging headlong into the Solidarity Zone.
We decided it wasn't fair. To compensate a little for the work of the participants, we are starting a Patreon. All donations made through Patreon, we plan to share equally among the participants.
Other details of the Solidarity Zone will continue to be used solely for the benefit of the persecuted, whom we support or want to support.

Telegram was founded in 2013 by two Russian brothers, Nikolai and Pavel Durov. This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. Russian President Vladimir Putin launched Russia's invasion of Ukraine in the early-morning hours of February 24, targeting several key cities with military strikes. But Kliuchnikov, the Ukranian now in France, said he will use Signal or WhatsApp for sensitive conversations, but questions around privacy on Telegram do not give him pause when it comes to sharing information about the war. Individual messages can be fully encrypted. But the user has to turn on that function. It's not automatic, as it is on Signal and WhatsApp.
