Контракты получили консорциум, состоящий из Siemens Mobility и Leonhard Weiss, на сумму €2,8 млрд, Alstom на сумму €600 млн, а также MerMec Deutschland и Hitachi Rail GTS Deutschland.
В общей сложности DB планирует заказать 15 500 единиц оборудования до конца 2028 года, реализация отдельных проектов продлится до 2032 года. Этой весной DB планирует сделать первые заказы на несколько миллионов евро.
По номинальной стоимости этот контракт беспрецедентный для DB. Дороже компании обошлись только 220 высокоскоростных поездов ICE, заказанных компанией в 2011 году за €6 млрд (около €9 млрд евро в текущих ценах).
