"Такое ФБР покончит с растущей эпидемией преступности в Америке, уничтожит преступные группировки мигрантов и остановит торговлю людьми и наркотиками через границу", - пояснил Трамп свой выбор.
По его словам, Пател будет работать, "чтобы вернуть в ФБР верность, храбрость и честность".
Как отмечает агентство Reuters, Пател является сторонником ультраправой теории заговора "глубинного государства".
