فکرم گاهی چالش شیرینی راه‌می‌اندازد که تمرین فيلمنامه‌نویسی هم هست؛ فیلم‌هایی که دوستشان دارم را در یک خط خلاصه کنم در اوج ایجاز. که معمولا ذهن من آن تک‌خط را یا شعر می‌آفریند یا شعر می‌گزیند. وقتی به فيلم مادر اثر علی حاتمی فکر می‌کنم؛ یاد این شعر یدالله رویایی می‌افتم:
مادر که می‌میرد دیگر نمی‌میرد.
البته زنده‌یاد حاتمی شاعرانه‌های حاتمی‌واری که یادآور رویایی‌‌اند را نه تنها در مفهوم که در دیالوگ‌نویسی هم دارند:
من آرزو طلب نمی‌كنم، آرزو می‌سازم." (کمال الملک،1363)
"آیین چراغ، خاموشی نیست." (حاجی واشنگتن،1361)
دو مثال از فيلم مادر:
"شب رو بايد بي‌چراغ روشن كرد."
مادر مُرد، از بس که جان ندارد ..."
البته گاهی علاوه بر رویایی، پرویز شاپور و کاریکلماتور را هم تداعی می‌کند:
"با همه بلند بالایی، دستم به شاخسار آرزو نرسید!" (دلشدگان،1371)
"همه عمر دیر رسیدیم." (سوته دلان،1356)
اوج تداعی شاپور در سینمای حاتمی اینجا اتفاق می‌افتد:
"برای آمدن به چشم نقاش، باید درچشم انداز بود." (کمال الملک، 1363)
