Позже Скорой помощью он был доставлен без сознания из Центрального РУВД Минска в больницу, где и скончался 12.11.2020. Его последняя запись в дворовом чате «Я выхожу» стала одной из лозунгов протеста. Убийство Романа вызвало общественный резонанс в Беларуси. По всем городам проходили акции памяти Романа, в том числе и Белоозёрске. Имя Романа навечно связано с огромным количеством людей, осужденных за Площадь перемен и его похороны. Второй год режим мстит за Романа.🥷31.09.2022 силовики, выломав дверь в квартиру, задержали иерея Владислава Богомольникова, проводившего службу по Роману на Площади Перемен, и он сих пор за решёткой.
