The ‘Hoop & Grapes’ - 47 #Aldgate High St, Greater, #London, #EC3N
We traversed to the @HoopandGrapes_ to discuss its historical interest and importance within #London and #Britain's overall pub scene. This pub isn't simply important as a pub. It's an insight into the many buildings that once made up the #CityofLondon before the 'Great fire' of 1666. ChelseaDan5 and myself (@VinnieSullivan) were joined by the wonderful @TheWonderingEnglishman. Together, we looked at the building not only for its registered history but for the many unknown moments it must have seen. We'd like to thank the staff who were incredibly helpful, polite, and facilitating. Our view into the cellar/tunnel was very special and ensured we'll be singing the Hoops praises for years to come. We hope you'll join us on YouTube.

At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. The channel appears to be part of the broader information war that has developed following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin has paid Russian TikTok influencers to push propaganda, according to a Vice News investigation, while ProPublica found that fake Russian fact check videos had been viewed over a million times on Telegram. Ukrainian forces successfully attacked Russian vehicles in the capital city of Kyiv thanks to a public tip made through the encrypted messaging app Telegram, Ukraine's top law-enforcement agency said on Tuesday. Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice.
