Биолог Павел Глазков рассказал, что заметил в Ленобласти редкое природное явление, известное под множеством названий – "ледяная шерсть", "волосатый лед", "снежные волосы", "ледяные цветы", "мохнатый лед". Своеобразные нити из льда образуются на разлагающихся деревьях лиственных пород.

Этот феномен появляется только в определенные погодные условия: влажность должна быть очень высокой, а температура – ниже ноля. Таким образом формируются бугорки льда, которые выходят на поверхность через поры древесины. Дальше они вытягиваются и становятся похожи на отдельные "волосы".
