Тревожный сигнал о происшествии поступил дежурной смене 18-го филиала медико-санитарной части № 11 ФСИН России. На вызов оперативно прибыли фельдшеры Виталий Яковлев и Дарья Захаренко.
На месте они обнаружили мужчину, у которого отсутствовали дыхание и пульс. Медики незамедлительно начали сердечно-легочную реанимацию. Их действия позволили восстановить жизненно важные функции всего за несколько минут.
После реанимации пострадавшего передали бригаде скорой помощи, которая доставила его в Воркутинскую больницу скорой медицинской помощи. Мужчина продолжает находиться под наблюдением врачей и временного караула сотрудников СИЗО-3.
