Турецкая Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) сообщила, что 30 декабря совершил первый полет первый опытный образец разработанного ею турбовинтового учебно-боевого самолета Hürkuş II. Данный самолет является переработанным и облегченным вариантом ранее созданного TAI самолета Hürkuş-B/C, забракованного ВВС Турции ввиду неудовлетворительных характеристик. Первый полет первого прототипа оригинальной итерации Hürkuş-A состоялся еще в августе 2013 г., и с тех пор были построены 18 самолетов в версиях А/В/С, причем три Hürkuş-С даже поставили в 2023 г. Чаду, однако серийные поставки их ВВС Турции так и не были начаты. Взамен в мае 2021 г. была начата разработка варианта Hürkuş II. Теперь ВВС Турции переконвертировали свой изначальный заказ 2013 г. на 15 учебно-тренировочных самолетов Hürkuş-В (с опционом еще на 40) на самолеты Hürkuş II.
