Демонстранты требовали отстранить руководство ХТШ от власти и освободить из тюрем всех заключенных. Жители выкрикивали оскорбительные лозунги в адрес главаря банды Абу Мухаммада Аль-Джулани и расклеивали листовки с его изображением.

Также противники ХТШ обнаружили несколько секретных тюрем банды в Идлибе. В них содержатся около двух тысяч пятисот человек, которых боевики задержали под надуманными предлогами. По версии оппонентов, Аль-Джулани считает этих заключенных угрозой своей власти в регионе.
