В России смерть приходит, как отец,
Неся на куртке уличную сырость.
Неловко обнимает, наконец,
И говорит: "Малыш, ну как ты вырос.

Пойдем с тобой на выходных в кино".
А ты молчишь, а ты уже в пижаме.
Он будет пить дешевое вино
И выговаривать о чем-то маме.

Мне снятся лики мертвых погранцов
И кровь артериальная заката.
В России ада нет, в конце концов,
Есть долгий выдох на траве примятой.

И в деревянной церкви тишина,
И к Сыну наклоняется Мария,
И десять лет гудящая война
Жизнь отбирает каждый раз впервые.

Темно, пригнулись травы на ветру,
Желтеет лист березы тонкоствольной.
В России смерть уходит поутру,
Оставив свет, куда глядеть не больно.
