The IDF attacked Houthi targets in Yemen last night.

Around 2:30 a.m., a Houthi missile was launched toward Israel. Sirens were activated in the center of the country. The missile was intercepted, but fragments from the interceptor hit an empty school building in Ramat Efal, causing significant damage.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., Arab media outlets reported a widespread IDF attack in Yemen on the following targets:

1. The Haziz central power station in the north of the capital, Sana'a.

2. The D'Habban Central Power Station in the south of the capital, Sanaa.

3. The oil facility in Ras Issa, Hodeidah province.

4. Hodeidah Port.

Following the attacks, 9 deaths and 3 injuries were reported among the workers at the Ras Issa oil facility.
Extensive power outages were also reported in Sana'a and Hodeidah.

##
The the attacks were likely planned weeks in advance. The timing of the launch of the ballistic missile by the Houthis before the attacks/in close proximity to them is, to say the least, interesting.

Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. The SC urges the public to refer to the SC’s I nvestor Alert List before investing. The list contains details of unauthorised websites, investment products, companies and individuals. Members of the public who suspect that they have been approached by unauthorised firms or individuals offering schemes that promise unrealistic returns If you initiate a Secret Chat, however, then these communications are end-to-end encrypted and are tied to the device you are using. That means it’s less convenient to access them across multiple platforms, but you are at far less risk of snooping. Back in the day, Secret Chats received some praise from the EFF, but the fact that its standard system isn’t as secure earned it some criticism. If you’re looking for something that is considered more reliable by privacy advocates, then Signal is the EFF’s preferred platform, although that too is not without some caveats. This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children.
