Новую инфраструктуру построили в таких местах, где зимой грунты промерзают на несколько метров, а летом постоянно подтапливаются. Чтобы обезопасить пути, строители возвели 12 мостов и проложили 9 водопропускных труб.
Всего в ходе работ уложили 17,2 км пути, смонтировали 8 стрелочных переводов, протянули 91 км линий автоблокировки и связи.
Завершение модернизации линии Лена – Хани, на которой находятся обновлённые перегоны, повысит её провозную способность к концу 2024 года до 51,2 млн т.
