Проект подразумевает строительство 2,2 км трассы вдоль Амурского залива до Токаревского маяка. Три развязки: на Эгершельде, на Университетском проспекте сразу за Русским мостом и в районе посёлка Канал. Четырёхполосный мост до острова Елена протянется на 2 км. Высота моста над акваторией - 70 метров.
Проектом уже заинтересовались 5 крупных компаний. Сейчас готовятся документы для участия в государственно-частном партнёрстве.
На реализацию уйдет около 6 лет. В итоге ВКАД поможет значительно уменьшить пробки в центре Владивостока, перенаправить грузы из порта в объезд и дать новое развитие острову Русский.
