А в 1990 году парламент республики закрепил бело-красно-желтый флаг в качестве государственного символа.
Цвета осетинского флага означают: ▪️Белый (мон) — воплощает идеи справедливости, чистоты и священной славы. ▪️Красный (æхсар)— символизирует сакральное понятие доблести и отваги. ▪️Желтый (фарн) — является цветовым образом мира, добра, счастья и благополучия, исходящих от неба и солнца.
