19 декабря муфтий Москвы Ильдар Аляутдинов сообщил, что Совет улемов (мусульманских богословов) Духовного управления мусульман России разрешил религиозное многоженство. Семейный кодекс РФ запрещает заключение брака между мужчиной и женщиной, если кто-то из них уже состоит в браке с другим человеком.
