В Грузии продолжается разогрев

Грузинские евромайдановцы снова собираются у здания парламента Грузии. На сей раз на улицах разожгли костры из мебели, стали появляться и другие атрибуты подобных мероприятий.

В том, к чему всё идёт, нет никаких сомнений: ключевая задача - постепенно раскачать протест, желательно довести до первых жертв среди протестующих и на этом основании перейти к более жёстким шагам под "зонтиком" дипломатической поддержки западных посольств.

Пока что не очень похоже, что это может сработать: пока что власти Грузии демонстрируют решимость шоу оппозиции всерьёз не воспринимать, а на предмет западной поддержки, так и вовсе заявили, что приостанавливают переговоры о вступлении в ЕС до конца 2028 года.

Продолжаем наблюдать.

During the invasion of Ukraine, Pavel Durov has wrestled with this issue a lot more prominently than he has before. Channels like Donbass Insider and Bellum Acta, as reported by Foreign Policy, started pumping out pro-Russian propaganda as the invasion began. So much so that the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council issued a statement labeling which accounts are Russian-backed. Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform. In addition, Telegram's architecture limits the ability to slow the spread of false information: the lack of a central public feed, and the fact that comments are easily disabled in channels, reduce the space for public pushback. "We're seeing really dramatic moves, and it's all really tied to Ukraine right now, and in a secondary way, in terms of interest rates," Octavio Marenzi, CEO of Opimas, told Yahoo Finance Live on Thursday. "This war in Ukraine is going to give the Fed the ammunition, the cover that it needs, to not raise interest rates too quickly. And I think Jay Powell is a very tepid sort of inflation fighter and he's not going to do as much as he needs to do to get that under control. And this seems like an excuse to kick the can further down the road still and not do too much too soon."
