В рамках соответствующего проекта в 2022 году острова закупили лесопожарной техники на общую сумму 7,5 млн рублей. Площадь лесовосстановления составила более 3,3 тысячи га, а отношение площади лесовосстановления и лесоразведения к площади вырубленных и погибших лесных насаждений составило почти 180%. На реализацию регионального проекта объем средств из федерального бюджета в 2022 году составил 34,8 млн рублей. Также отмечается, что в прошлом году Сахалинская область перевыполнила план по лесовосстановлению на 7%.
