SpaceX впервые смогла вернуть на землю первую ступень космического корабля Starship.

Это удалось сделать в ходе пятого испытания сверхтяжелой ракеты на космодроме в Техасе. В прошлый раз, в ходе испытаний в июне, носитель Super Heavy удалось посадить на воду в районе Мексиканского залива.

Сам Starship в свою очередь совершил суборбитальный виток вокруг Земли и приводнился в акватории Индийского океана (второе видео). Сегодня компания успешно выполнила 2 основные цели тестового полета.
