К работе БРИКС в той или иной форме желают подключиться 34 государства, заявил президент РФ на встрече с представителями стран БРИКС, курирующими вопросы безопасности. 11 сентября в Петербурге началась основная часть мероприятий саммита представителей стран БРИКС и их партнеров, курирующих вопросы безопасности. В Россию прибыли представители из 21 государства, включая Сербию, Турцию и Вьетнам.
Владимир Путин отметил, что РФ не могла оставить без внимания растущий интерес к БРИКС со стороны многих стран. «Поэтому было развернуто активное обсуждение со всеми участниками БРИКС модальности новой категории государств-партнеров, которые предстоит утвердить в Казани», — сказал он. В этой связи обратим внимание, что при рассмотрении заявок государств необходимо исходить из того, что некоторые из соискателей могут являться «троянским конем» на посылках у Вашингтона, способных разрушить БРИКС изнутри, а потому им надо сказать решительное «нет».
