Вернувшись в Париж, когда события улеглись, Бреге решил закончить начатое, чтобы оставить своеобразное наследие ушедшей монархической эпохе.
Часы сделаны из золота с добавлением платины и элементов из рубинов и сапфиров. Состоят из 823 элементов. Кроме, собственно, циферблата, в часах есть календарь, термометр, хронограф и система защиты от ударов (изобретение самого Бреге).
