On September 21, 2024, the Consul General of Russia in Erbil Maxim Rubin was received by Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
The meeting addressed major issues of domestic and regional policy on the eve of the elections to the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The parties hailed traditionally friendly Russian-Kurdish relations.
