Правозащитники сообщали, что в этот призыв в российских городах увеличилось число облав на призывников. Планировалось, что в этот призыв начнет массово работать реестр электронных повесток, однако сайт электронного реестра воинского учета до сих пор не начал работу. В некоторых регионах России систему начали тестировать ещё в сентябре, до начала осеннего призыва.
Правительство пообещало не отправлять срочников в пункты дислокации в ДНР, ЛНР, Херсонской и Запорожской областях.
