В День Героев России в Печенге открыли новый корпус школы. Здание начальной школы построили по программе реновации ЗАТО.

Там будут учиться, прежде всего, дети военнослужащих 200-й отдельной гвардейской мотострелковой Печенгской ордена Кутузова бригады и 61-й отдельной гвардейской Киркенесской Краснознамённой бригады морской пехоты.

Учреждение носит имя Героя России, начальника штаба – заместителя командира мотострелкового батальона Михаила Попова.
