Монумент, сооружённый на высокой сопке, под которой находятся остатки фашистских укреплений, представлял из себя фрагмент боевой рубки подводной лодки и стелу, олицетворяющую перископ.

В прошлом году из Госдумы поступали запросы о включении памятника в реестр объектов культурного наследия регионального значения, однако это не успели сделать.
