دروازه ناصری در عصر قاجار و سال 1239 ش/ 1277 ق (1860 م) توسط محمداسماعیل خان وکیل‌الملک (حاکم وقت کرمان) در محدوده محله شهر (حوالی بیمارستان خداد محرابی) احداث شده و احتمالا به این دلیل دروازه ناصری نام گرفته که در زمان سلطنت ناصرالدین شاه احداث شده است.
