The Old Bell Tavern 🔔 - 95 Fleet St, Greater, #CityOfLondon, #London, #EC4Y
#FleetStreet was one of the most important places in #London for a long time. Like Lombard Street was for banking, or Cloth Fair was for textiles, Fleet Street was the home of printing and journalism. As with each of these areas, there's far more to Fleet Street and the 'Old Bell' than meet the eye. From its tales of England's journalistic pioneers to rumours of the secret service, this little gem is a treasure chest of goodies. Join myself (@VinnieSullivan) and @ChelseaDan5 as we visit this beauty and explain a few reasons as to why it, and its like, should be preserved or imitated long into the future.

Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. Multiple pro-Kremlin media figures circulated the post's false claims, including prominent Russian journalist Vladimir Soloviev and the state-controlled Russian outlet RT, according to the DFR Lab's report. Telegram was founded in 2013 by two Russian brothers, Nikolai and Pavel Durov. At this point, however, Durov had already been working on Telegram with his brother, and further planned a mobile-first social network with an explicit focus on anti-censorship. Later in April, he told TechCrunch that he had left Russia and had “no plans to go back,” saying that the nation was currently “incompatible with internet business at the moment.” He added later that he was looking for a country that matched his libertarian ideals to base his next startup. Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that there were "certain positive developments" occurring in the talks with Ukraine, according to a transcript of their meeting. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis."
