Бывшая руководительница Википедии, руководитель National Public Radio, НПО (крупнейший агрегатор новостей с более чем 1 000 радиостанций США) откровенно заявляет, правда только отвлекает людей от важных вещей:
💬"Самый существенный момент, чтобы перейти от раскола общества к единству и продуктивности заключается в том, что википедисты, которые пишут эти статьи, на самом деле не сосредоточены на поиске истины.
И после 7 лет работы [в Википедии] я действительно считаю, что они на пути к тому, что при наших самых сложных разногласиях - поиск истины и стремление убедить в ней других - вовсе не то, с чего надо начинать.
На самом деле, я думаю, что наше благоговение перед правдой, возможно, стало чем-то вроде отвлекающего фактора, который мешает нам находить консенсус и делать действительно важные вещи."

Telegram has gained a reputation as the “secure” communications app in the post-Soviet states, but whenever you make choices about your digital security, it’s important to start by asking yourself, “What exactly am I securing? And who am I securing it from?” These questions should inform your decisions about whether you are using the right tool or platform for your digital security needs. Telegram is certainly not the most secure messaging app on the market right now. Its security model requires users to place a great deal of trust in Telegram’s ability to protect user data. For some users, this may be good enough for now. For others, it may be wiser to move to a different platform for certain kinds of high-risk communications. Unlike Silicon Valley giants such as Facebook and Twitter, which run very public anti-disinformation programs, Brooking said: "Telegram is famously lax or absent in its content moderation policy." Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers. At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations.
