No stream tonight…last minute emergency
Watched the first 10 minutes of the Jimmy Akin video (very strange...accusing me of saying he supports Masturbation/Female Ordination, weird comment about me not looking at the camera due to autism, weird posturing of authority, etc.).

Currently fixing my floor(s), parents visiting soon, and flying to North Africa and staying there until the 2nd week in January to do some catechesis with Tavnet, so I don't know whether I'll get a full response in any time soon (might do a brief comment or two during a q+a?).

From what I've seen, idek if it is worth it. Thoughts?
Sorry I haven't been as active over the last week. I have been fixing my floors.

It looks like I will be done in the next day or two, so we will be back to normal by next week.

I appreciate your patience and continued support.

I am BACK and LIVE
Hello,

As many of you know, I’ve had a bit of a busy week. Besides that, the end-of-year fundraiser is still going on, and we are $4,186 below our goal with a little more than a week left.

Up until Christmas, I’m offering a 90% discount on a year-long subscription to my $25 Patron tier to ANYONE donating over $25 toward the end-of-year fundraiser.

This gives you access to several benefits, including messaging, patron streams, theology videos, translations, and more.

Donate here: christianbwagner.com/donate

Thank you for all your support!

Sorry, no stream tonight...there were so many people at the 4pm mass (1,800 people!!!) that we were turned away and had to go to the 6pm mass, so my schedule was changed.

Merry Christmas!

I am LIVE discussing my FAVORITE Catholic YouTuber...
Tomorrow I leave for North Africa to help with the work that is done by Tavnet for the conversion of Muslims to the Catholic Faith. While I am there, I will be helping with catechesis, along with investigating the situation of such Catholics on the ground, which will culminate in a documentary.

In other news, I am nearing the end of our annual end of year fundraiser and we are still $2,650 short of our $15,000 goal. This money will go towards placing us on the right footing at the beginning of 2025 to continue the current activities of Scholastic Answers, along with various new activities I have planned for 2025, including expanded involvement in Tavnet (which will include multiple overseas trips), continued advanced research in scholastic theology, hiring new individuals to help with research and production, and much, much more that will continue the expansion of the various projects that many of you have benefitted from.

You can learn more about these goals on my donate page.

Merry Christmas,

I’ve gotten a few emails in the past few days from people who didn’t receive a discount code for one of my fundraisers.

I think some of the original notifications were marked as spam and therefore I didn’t get them.

If that’s one of you, just DM me and I will fix it when I’m home.

Thanks for your patience,

I am LIVE on whether Protestants worship God...
The traditional reading of the "scripture is sufficient" texts from the fathers, medievals, renissance, and baroque theologians makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the material sufficiency reading.

When they speak about scriptural sufficiency, they aren't making certain speculative judgements about the placement of divine revelation (i.e., "can you derive everything the church teaches touching the primary object from sacred scripture?"), rather, they are making a certain practical judgement about the assent of faith.

Many of these texts would be completely incoherent if they didn't mean that (in the language commonly used) the sufficiency were "formal."

All these theologians mean to highlight is that, for the assent of faith, someone can pick up scripture and make such an assent...this is true about the Apostle's Creed, it's obviously true about something like the Gospel of John. This is something that neither weighs in favor of the Protestant position, nor the Catholic position.
Worst q+a coming soon....
