Потери 2х Ми-8 могло не быть. Их можно было легко избежать просто изменив тактические приёмы борьбы с БЭКами. А ещё проще отправить на боевую задачу более современную модификацию АМТШ-В, где имеется бортовой комплекс обороны, который способен отводить в стороны ракеты ПВО.
По экипажам пока не понятно, но судя по видео, где бой вёлся ночью, не понятно, кто бы спас терпящих бедствие на воде. На кадрах вертолёт, входящий с таким тангажом в воду, обставляет не большую надежду. При полётах над водной поверхностью состав экипажа и группы стрелков должен быть обеспечен индивидуальными средствами спасения и групповыми тоже - например надувной плот. За более чем год работы по БЭКам давно пора менять высоты, скорости, порядок применения вертолётов, да и необходимое имущество подвести не составило бы труда... Ждём инфы по экипажам...
