9 лет хотела добраться до этой книги, 4 переиздания успело выйти, а автор – умереть (†2020). Каждый раз, натыкаясь на увесистый кирпич «Долга» в магазинах и библиотеках, решала «ну, чуть позже, уж очень тема сурьëзная и страниц много», а зря: одолела в один миг.

Ещë по «Бредовой работе» было понятно, что автор – огонь-огонь, рок-н-рольщик и анархист. По попранию общественных устоев Дэвид Гребер в моей голове на уровне Спайдера Иерусалима: тоже ни в грош не ставит общепризнанное мнение, недоволен всем и бесконечно изобличающе пишет.

О чëм «Долг»? О цене и ценности в антропологическом смысле, о монете как долговой расписке, о сведении счетов (значит, что обе стороны могут распрощаться друг с другом), об истории и культуре народов от шумеров и до наших дней, полна притч (Насреддин тоже замечен). Непривычный взгляд на привычное понятие. Автора яростно несëт тема денег, – быстрее гоночного болида, иногда даже заносит (задорновщина о происхождении слов), но наблюдать за этим интересно.
