В Шербакульском районе купания отменили из-за рыхлого льда. Из-за потепления изменилась его структура и стала небезопасной. В Полтавском районе купания не организуют из-за слишком тонкого льда на озере Караката в Полтавке и в котловане Черном в селе Новоильновка и из-за несоответствия нормам воды.
Крещение Господне отмечается 19 января. В этот день смелые христиане, согласно традиции, окунаются в ледяной прорубь.
