🔹На полёт в Антарктиду ушла неделя. 18 февраля 1986 года он вылетел, а уже 25 февраля красовался на снежном аэродроме. До этого года ни один тяжёлый транспортный самолёт в мире не проделывал подобного маршрута!
🔹В том рейсе в Антарктиду и обратно было перевезено 170 участников экспедиции и около 15 т грузов. Этот полёт, получивший высокую оценку специалистов, позволил значительно сократить время доставки советских экспедиций на антарктические станции, увеличить продолжительность и эффективность работ по изучению далекого ледового материка.
