Президент РФ Владимир Путин подписал указ, в соответствии с которым Магомед Магомедов назначен на должность председателя Шестого кассационного суда общей юрисдикции.
Как сообщал на тот момент депутат Госдумы Александр Хинштейн, кандидатуру Магомедова поддержала Высшая квалификационная судей РФ 16 сентября 2024 года.
Шестой кассационный суд до августа 2023 г. возглавлял Александр Ефанов. После дисциплинарного взыскания ВККС досрочно прекратила его полномочия.
