Работы вели сразу с двух направлений – от разъезда Побожий и станции Тында. Финальное скрепление сделали ключом, который использовали при укладке последнего звена восточного участка БАМа на разъезде Мирошниченко в 1984 году.
Символично, что рекорд поставили 27 октября, в этот день 40 лет назад во время митинга в Тынде было открыто сквозное движение по Байкало-Амурской магистрали.
